Our Mission

Missouri Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (MCCoE) serves the Southwest Missouri regional community, university students and trained early cybersecurity practitioners, and small to medium organizations. MCCoE equips the upcoming cybersecurity workforce:

  • By training students using real-world data, operations, and decisions
  • By working with current practitioners and instructors.

We provide affordable cybersecurity services to the regional community, especially small and mid-sized organizations. Through these actions, we enhance community cybersecurity knowledge and practices through public/private partnerships.

Guiding Principles

  1. We are established in Springfield, MO as a Non-Profit, given centralized location and the diverse academia and industry partners.
  2. Aligned with the the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)
  3. A collaborative hub where industry organizations, government agencies, and academic institutions work together to address organizations’ most pressing cybersecurity issues. This public-private partnership enables the creation of practical cybersecurity solutions for specific industries, as well as for broad, cross-sector technology challenges.
  4. Cooperative Research and Development Agreements (CRADAs), including technology partners—from Fortune 50 market leaders to smaller companies specializing in IT security—the MCCoE applies standards and best practices to develop modular, easily adaptable example cybersecurity solutions using commercially available technology.
  5. A public private partnership to work with the Chamber, Academia, Industry Non-Profits and our Congressional leadership creating a Springfield Cybersecurity Strategy that puts a framework around Springfield as a Center of Excellence for CyberSecurity in Missouri.
