What to do During a Cybersecurity Event

For Organizations

If your organization experiences a cybersecurity threat, swift reporting is critical. Use the following contacts to report the event to federal authorities and ensure an appropriate response. In the event of an active or severe threat, contact local emergency services immediately.

  2. Report to DHS CISA at report@cisa.gov, call (888) 282-0870 or report at https://www.cisa.gov/forms/report
  3. If a significant security event is in progress, such as a significant loss of data, information system availability issues, or loss of systems control, then you should call local law enforcement at emergency responders at 911.

For Individuals

If you believe you’ve been the victim of a cybercrime, report the incident to the FBI through the Internal Crime Complaint Center at https://complaint.ic3.gov.
